8 ingenious uses for toothpaste

You may think that the only use for toothpaste is to keep your mouth squeaky clean and cavity-free. However, its abrasive texture and cleaning power makes it a useful household cleaning tool.

One word of advice: when cleaning with toothpaste, use regular white toothpaste instead of the gel version, as that may cause your hard work to backfire.

8 ingenious uses for toothpaste:

1. Shine silver
If your favourite ring or necklace is looking a little dull, brighten it up with the help of toothpaste. Just wet it and rub a little toothpaste on it, before rinsing and drying it with a clean cloth. However, avoid doing this too often as toothpaste will remove its tarnish.

2. Achieve gleaming taps again
Using a wet sponge, rub some toothpaste over the surfaces of your bathroom fixtures to get them gleaming once again.
