Knife care:

  1. Avoid keeping your knives in a cutlery drawer as this will cause them to blunt more quickly. Instead, store your knives separately in either a divided knife block or tray. Make sure they are kept well out of children’s reach.
  2. Use wooden or plastic chopping boards. They will not dull the blade as much as harder surfaces such as glass or marble.
  3. Handwash your knives instead of putting them in the dishwasher. A dishwasher cycle can easily corrode both the handle and blade, and allow a higher chance for rust to develop.

  4. Avoid soaking your knives at the bottom of your sink, as it is easy for you to forget that you left them there.
  5. Always dry your knives immediately after washing to prevent rusting.
  6. Use different knives when preparing raw and cooked foods.
